Ragi Dosa:

Ragi Dosa is a South Indian crepe prepared from finger millet. These iron and fiber-rich dosas are produced in South Indian homes and are nutritious. Dosa, for those who are unfamiliar, is a classic crepe prepared with rice and lentil batter.

Ragi dosas are a variation on regular dosas, however ragi is the major component. In this post, we will show you how to make crispy and tasty ragi dosa using ragi dosa mix in under 10 mins.

Why Ragi Dosa?

Ragi is a staple in many regions of India, people eat it in a variety of ways. Ragi is used in many ways to create ragi mudde, ragi malt, ladoos, dosas, idli, rotti, chapati, halwa, and many other dishes. Everyone has their own methods and recipes for each meal.

Because of its rich nutritional profile, particularly iron and calcium, finger millet is called a super grain. It is considered that eating this whole grain on a daily basis would keep us healthy and robust. We are recommended to drink this on a daily basis, at least in little amounts, in order to increase our calcium and iron levels.

Ragi dosa is not a traditional meal, and many Indians were unaware of it until a few decades ago. Finger millet dosa may have been invented as a result of increased health consciousness. There is no one method for making them. Here is the easiest and the fastest way to make it using ragi dosa mix.

Recipe :

1. Take instant ragi dosa mix. I used one cup of batter.

2. Add 1.5 cups of water to get the desired consistency.

3. The ragi dosa batter should have a pourable consistency. Achieve the batter slightly thicker to make crispy dosas. Make the batter somewhat runny, for soft dosas. We like the crisp dosas over the soft ones.

4. Grease and heat a pan as you would for a regular dosa. Pour the batter into the pan’s middle.

5. Make a thin dosa out of the batter.

6. Drizzle some oil on top.

7. The ragi dosa’s edges will begin to separate from the pan.

8. Flip the ragi dosa and cook it on the other side.

Ragi dosa should be served with chutney for a delicious meal. You can also add masala in the middle to make it masala ragi dosa or chopped onions to make it Onion ragi dosa. Enjoy this delicious breakfast made with Ragi dosa mix along with your family.
